Just picked up some stuff to help support Dan and his work. Nice excuse to grab three nice prints at a good price.

Both prints included in the sub along with a mini print, according to Dan.

I had a great time tonight at MassArt. HUGE turn out for Dan. I shot a ton of pics, but too many to go through tonight.
There was a one color (black on cream stock) screen print pulled onsite & given away for free until they ran out.
Dan said it was a bit overwhelming to see 10 years of output all up at the same time. When pressed about which was his favorite, he said it's always the next one he's working on. we talked a little about his process, the inspiration for some of the prints and where some of the houses from his early posters are located (ie: Insomnia, New Porno & The Darkroom).
In addition to the monthly art prints, there was a selection of his early gig posters on the second level of the gallery space along with a sampling of the traveling Poster Retosecticus.
There was another local Massachusetts artist named Dan in attendance (the one who did a pop-up show in Brooklyn last week). He had nice things to say about a 3rd Dan (from Minneapolis, but currently residing in Chicago). Additionally, I got to talk posters with other people who like to talk about (and collect) posters. Good times.
For Boston locals, Dan's work will be up for another week (through June 24th). The gallery is in Mass College of Art at the corner of Huntington & Longwood on the Green Line (E train). Go see it!

I'll second all the positives that were said of the show and the evening. Great space, great turnout. Such a stellar collection of work (many of which had copies for sale). Loved seeing the pieces that I have admired over the years but have never seen in person, particularly the older gig posters. Very cool. Dan was awesome. Grateful for the chance to meet and talk with him. Such a humble, genuine and talented individual. What he and others have built utilizing this medium is inspiring. Danger was there. Always great to chat with him.
Also fortunate to meet electrochome and talk for while about all things posters. Cheers to you, Sir! Hope we can connect again in the future.
And big kudos to the folks at the National Poster Retrospecticus for putting this together and for the ongoing efforts with their shows.
