It would appear that you're just an asshole. This is my last time posting in this thread as it seems that some people just can't be a decent person. No one needs to defend Michael Everett as his work speaks for itself but he made a mistake in not seeing the need to edition his work. The past is the past, oh well. I think it would be a good idea to protect his future work from possible forgery (I look forward to adding more of his prints to my collection). Anyone posting negative fudge that doesn't even own any of his prints is completely talking out of his or her ass. I have my opinions and make them known but one thing I completely disagree with is putting down any artwork or choice of medium by any artist. If you feel the need to do this with any artist than I think you should be able to back it with a portfolio of your own that (at least) matches the portfolio of the artist in discussion. Anyone with anything as negative as some of the comments in this thread should proceed to go F themselves.robbieXeff wrote:this guy is an asshole for not numbering his prints. he's a bigger asshole for trying to re-number his prints years later. the people agreeing that this is a good idea are drymounting idiots.

Actually, RobbieXeff has a decent portfolio. I'm not sure owning Everett posters is a prerequisite to having an opinion on editioning prints after printing.theomont wrote:It would appear that you're just an asshole. Nothing wrong with an opinion. I for one thought the original idea to sign and number the old prints was stupid, but calling Michael an asshole is a bit much.

Okay, you got me to post one more time in this thread. I seriously doubt that RobbieXeff (or whatever his name is) has the same portfolio that Michael Everett has but who cares? Not me. He's an asshole for calling someone out on a personal decision on their artwork portfolio and life's work. If you don't own any artwork by Everett then what does it matter what he has decided to do with it? The only decision is by that of the owner of said prints. Do you send them back to have them editioned or not risk the mail transaction and possible damage. I would opt to keep and enjoy them as they are. Like I said, I am the owner of the newest prints by Everett and don't own anything past that but I really enjoy the art of his that I own. Sure, I'd like a signature and edition number on them but they're not leaving my house.

I love bad artists that have elitist attitudes and chitty tattoos.

I would, at least he doesn't have any conflicts of interest in the matter.
What's the big deal with considering Everett an open edition artist? Let the work speak for itself, right.
This is what he'll be remembered for.
