dig

and i actually posted some tony clifton pics in a brainwash thread on the banksy board back when this whole thing first started. kaufman was a genius who created this cheesy alter ego not just as comedy, but as performance art...as a way of branching out his art and its inherent social criticism. so i don't think it's a stretch that another genius, maybe in a different type of art, could create an equally out-of-character caricature as a performance art piece to place his artistic perspective in a different context. kaufman "sold" clifton by having him host shows. banksy may be selling brainwash by having him bumble in public.

whatever. if he isn't a banksy experiment, he has absolutely haphazardly accidentally stumbled upon the century's greatest commentary on the art world. is that art? what is art? can he be an artist? what is a successful artist? are people easily brainwashed en masse? who says what art is?

y'all getting any of that out of those movie posters?

I was going to comment this weekend but forgot. I remember some time ago the clothing line popping up on eBay. I think at the same time, these statues were also mentioned.

Didn't the clothing line feature Looney Tunes characters or something like that?
