not sure your setup - whether PC or mac - and hate to sound stupid, but maybe make sure it's not printing greyscale or fast mode? mine prints regular and the labels are legible. the first run through my printer defaulted to fast mode and they were definitely in the lighter colored realm. after i changed that they're fine.
