A friendly warning about an artist
So, its been 6 years since this all started.
I put a sizable deposit down on a Doze Green commission.
I'm (still) a huge fan of Doze's work. I've been patient, he's had to relocate a few times, and I was cool being patient.
However, at this point Doze has produced tons of work, and just let my sizable deposit go without rectifying the matter.
There have been half hearted attempts that never came to an end. Promises make but not kept.
So, while I still appreciate the work, and Doze's contribution to the movement, I would suggest against doing commission work with him.

6 years. Oof. Dunno what the statute of limitations is on this kinda fudge, and I'm guessing no timetable was set at the outset anyway. Since yer a baller, I'm guessing we're talking at least 5 figures here.

Yeah around $15,000
I know all cases are different, but nothing better than social media callout to get someone's attention. It puts artist on blast and other fans will see what's happening and might even chime in with similar experiences.
Have you tried calling his mom? Worked for us poors.....once.
For real though, mad lame.

I agree.
Doze is active on instagram, he uses it to promote his work sometimes. Seems only fair to take this issue public in search of a resolution...
Dats a lotta jerky. I’d say a civil lawsuit is in order (assuming the statute of limitations hasn’t run out in whichever state yer in).

Doze is in Brazil, for the foreseeable future.
15K will be far far less after the cost to bring the action and then the cost to collect.
That's assuming I can even catch him in the US to serve him.
Also, over the last few years I have recommitted myself to spiritual practice.
I have compassion for Doze, and myself. So I figured its ok to warn those who would be harmed, I don't however wish any ill will on Doze.
Doze has enough demons he deals with, there isn't any good that comes from me starting a public dust up.
The energy that goes into and comes out of the dust up is probably best focused elsewhere.
Doze isn't this dumb decision, I am not the worst things I have ever done. Just don't suggest anyone do a commission with him because Doze doesn't keep his word.
well handled. stress is the body and mind killer. been there myself. didn't get paid for 6mo of work. fun. learn and move on.
You could have bought 3 Banksys for that...and been able to sell for $100k now.
