I have never really seen a foil print in person and saw this https://spoke-art.com/products/ise-anan ... evangelion which i really wanted to get. Also saw a listing with the foil for a decent price but not sure I wanna pay that much extra unless it's really worth it.

Depends of what you mean by worth it. If you like the image in foil it is worth in. The other side of the coin is whether a foil means you can flip it for more money. From a production standpoint, the Modes of Transportation foil I have is just ok but the Sperry foils are much cooler.

Besides detracting from the original image, I feel they are easier to scratch and damage.

I don't even like rolling them in on themselves to put in a tube.

Have the foil papers gotten better lately?

I just remember some of the older foils I have gotten, being very stiff and tend to scratch easy.

If you like the image, it doesn't break the bank, can afford to frame it and the wife likes it....... I say go for it!
