Just looking at Shep's Ideal Power Mural nft and wondering if the buyer could have asked Shep to fly to his house and paint a wall for $178k.

Or maybe they already have that, I dunno.

feel sorry for all the suckers. this ain't about art. the only winners here are the sellers. oh and all the crypto gods making headlines to pump up the markets so they can make even more money. love it. go crypto go.
Not an attack Im just curious. How is this any different then whats going on with actual baseball cards now? I know its singling out crypto but its happening to a lot of collectible markets where now more then ever its about the resale.
totally agree, it's pretty similar. i would only say it's easier to market NFTs right now as most people just don't understand what they are buying. with a card, your are getting a card. most engineers i've talked to think most NFTs are nonsense (at least in the current forms). but on the other hand most business people love it. i'm all for capitalism, but makes me pause when i see people being taken advantage of (at least that's how i see it when you are selling something people don't really understand.)

that and a baseball card you hold in your hand. there are a ton of complexities involved with NFTs and the blockchain. which blockchain? where are your wallet keys stored? where is the token even stored when you buy it? everyone is doing it a little differently. like nifty gateway. they don't actually do a transfer to a real wallet until you transfer it out. that seems pretty sketch to me. they are of course trying to get around the gas fees. but that means you don't actually own it on the blockchain. you own it on their internal ledger. do people understand this when they are buying? is it not ironic that nifty is selling NTFs on the concept of crypto decentralization but the all the sales are centralized in their db?

Alex and Allyson Grey did pretty well tonight with their drop on NG.

Dollar drawings are nice if you even remotely have a chance.

Lolz.

This stuff is just too dumb. Soon a lot of people are gonna have a bunch of worthless things that no one understands.

But I congratulate everyone that can take advantage of all the suckers dropping serious money on this junk.

Intrigued by those Topps but it's just a static card which sucks.

Big Topshots drop today, if you qualify. I'll be in the queue!

Also an historic drop from Pak X NG X Sothebys today! I've got to pick up one cube just so I can own a Pak. Will be interesting to see who the biggest buyers are - word is that Cuban is in for 1000 cubes.

First MLB pack drop April 20th. Agree with earlgreytoast that the cards being static is kinda lame. Much less interested in baseball cards but fun to get in on series 1

Very bummed to not be eligible for Top Shots today. Gifted a few moments to fiends so they could go for the pack drop where you needed at least 3 moments.. and they were never able to gift them back b/c of the new policy :/

Can someone explain the NG Cube drop today? not sure I follow why the open edition is 15 mins/day over 3 days.. or what exactly you can do with the cubes. is it almost like a currency you're buying into and down the road there will be art you can redeem the cubes for?

yea no one really knows yet. Could be $500 open today. $1 tomorrow and then $100 final day then in the future it could add up to something.

PAK is pretty awesome to follow.I'm not smart enough to understand 99% of the fudge he says but its fun to watch and pretend like I do.

I think there's zero chance the price goes down from day 1 - that would make no sense IMO. Hearing it will be 500/1000/1500 - and that's what I'm hoping for as I'm only buying 1.
