25% of all power in Iran is use for crypto mining. Chinese miners have made corrupt deals with corrupt leaders in Iran to illegally steal power (generated via massive polluting fuels). This has resulted in power outages for regular people.

Crypto and NFTs are a global environmental disaster. Crypto has to end, if not it very well may be the end of our planet.

Close to 80% of miners use renewable energy. You actually get rewarded more for using it. With miners leaving China, who are less energy efficient/use more coal and the hash rate percentage being spread out to other countries that are more environmentally conscious , it actually helps with that issue. And with NFTs, there are so many sites running of a POS chain + ETH switching over soon, it will definitely help as well. Don't think its going to be the end of our planet.

And in Iran, here is the other side and what could be causing the outages: https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2021 ... y-backlash

If anyone is interested in reading about the mining, here is a thread from one of the largest miners there: https://twitter.com/jiangzhuoer/status/ ... 64737?s=21

So the Arsham is 12 video segments? $1500 for 12 videos as opposed to 1 isn't too shabby :lol:

If there's some info on the technical side of this please share it.

The end of our planet is coming for a multitude of reasons. Just drink up and embrace the coming apocalypse.

you can look at the contract (code) which comprises the NFT on the blockchain using etherscan.

https://etherscan.io/address/0x3e34556b ... febb7#code

when requesting the IPFS (interplanetary filesystem) token for the video it changes per month:

Code: Select all

    function tokenIPFSHash(uint256 tokenId) external view override returns (string memory) {
        require(_exists(tokenId), "ERC721Metadata: IPFS hash query for nonexistent token");

        DateTimeAPI dateTime = DateTimeAPI(dateTimeContract);

        uint value = dateTime.getMonth(block.timestamp);
the datetime contract (code) can be found here:

https://etherscan.io/address/0x1a6184cd ... 315b7bcbce

which looks to be a public interface anyone can use to do datetime functions. looks like block.timestamp is a way to get the current time. so depending on the month a different token is returned.

Been awhile on here but just wanted to let you all know I have created a website for NFTs minted on the Ravencoin Network, which if you're not aware is a No ICO, No Pre-mine, Fair Launch, Permissionless, Censorship Resistant, PoW Network (ie an actual Decentralized Network most similar to Bitcoin). Check out some of the work that has already been minted.

Thx! Been volunteering hundreds of hours over the past couple months to get artists the tools they need to get their work minted, exposed and sold. 100% of the sales proceeds go to the artists. Since it's unlikely Bitcoin will ever add an asset layer to it's code (nor should it IMO), Ravencoin is a great alternative to asset tokenization while still providing the rock solid decentralized Cypherpunk fundamentals that Bitcoin was born from.

More crypto related than NFT, but has anyone watched the show "StartUp"? Aired on Crackle from 16-18, and now is on Netflix. Watched the first episode and seemed like a good filler show in between your favorite shows.
