Pak made over 27 million dollars in 3 minutes so far.
It's mind boggling to think about how much money they're going to make off this release! They've already sold almost $90mil worth in 4hrs. And then the commissions on the secondary sales are going to be nuts. Still trying to decide if I want to buy in or not. I have no idea what the hell the secondary market is going to be like. Definitely going to be interesting to watch either way.
There is going to be a critical point where open editions crash the market even if the gamification is built into them, and it could be this one. Combine (n+1) to make a new mass will eventually cause the (1) mass to become "scarcer" by design. I think when something like this becomes 10x more speculative than the previous Cube release, you are getting into a very dangerous territory. This seems like a very dangerous (from the consumer point) cash grab now that NFT has become word of the year.
totally agree.

Yes just like timed editions have crashed the entire print market.

There aren't as many open edition releases anymore like there were at the beginning of the year. Most were done by NG and they have pulled back.

These aren't time releases, they are open editions and you never get sent the print.

A timed edition signed Banksy print would absolutely crash his market. You'd have people buying 10s or 100s and then be stuck with the inventory when over 250,000 are sold.

Paks release is a timed release that ends on the 4th

If people are willing to give you money for whatever it is you produce, get it while you drymounting can, and as much as you can.

Unrelated - PUNKS Comic/Metahero has been scorching lately. Partnership with Adidas announced yesterday (along with BAYC). A lot coming down the pike through the EOY as well. Giddy up!

For Pak, not knowing the breakdown of what sold at each tier, a quick calculation of the current 253025 sold at the original cost of 299 is $75,654,475...so this has to be around 90-100M by now.

Apologies in advance for asking :) but I'm looking for some help with a WL invite competition for this Ghetto Sharkhood project. The art looks pretty cool and it seems like an interesting project. Plus they're donating a portion of the proceeds to a bunch of good causes. If you could join the discord for me it'd be greatly appreciated! https://discord.gg/J4HuyMk3eu
