The print showed up damaged. you drymounted up
no...I didn't.
You said he could send it back if he wasn't happy? And now you don't want to take it back when he's not happy? You did indeed drymount up.

All the other details aside... This is where you need to come through with your end of the deal.
A public relations nightmare

I'll inject my two cents. I have dealt with imatruck years ago on a couple occasions and it was smooth dealings. I have also done probably 10-15 deals with turnJBup over the past two years and only had one issue and that was my fault. (my very rare screw-up!)...turnJBup was as cool as can be. He accepted the damage but I partially refunded him to make it right and we continue to do business in the most professional way....

I have no clue as to how this should be resolved, if I had a say id suggest a couple fiat dollars relative to the value of the print. I am glad the average length of the posts are shorter. I don't think a public shaming was required in this case, I'm surprised such a veteran user would call out another long timer over a conditional issue. Call outs are for when a member ghosts without paying etc and serves as a warning about the presence of a scammer. Just my thoughts but by all means do carry on.

Hi erreybody 👍

How in the world can you not mention THAT level of obvious damage?
It seems Jim is getting screwed by a truck. Talk about weird and unsavory mental images. Anyways...He’s easily one of the top 5 humans on this site...and my .02 says it seems Mark should make this right.

I’ll stay tuned.

Seems impossible that corner/bottom damage could happen unrolling unless you fell on it.

Definitely looks like gripped first roll and/or the endcap punched in and pushed that corner toward the middle. Clumped up TP at the bottom would maybe somehow cause just the first roll to elevate enough to have the end cap hit it (which would maybe explain why that whole side isn't damaged similarly).

From the correspondence it seems like it was clear that both prints had minor damage, even though the OP keeps waffling on 'mint' vs 'near mint'. TBH I can see the two dings with the naked eye / unzoomed in trucks pics so... I'm not really sure how that could be missed by a buyer...

IMO if you're going to accuse someone of misrepresenting damage you gotta show all the correspondence... the grip job seems like it's gotta be from packing...

This thread reminds me of why I don’t trade
Fixed.
It's gotta be a beast of a deal to get me to trade.

That being said I would've traded with either of these guys if the situation presented itself.

Someone tell me what Ryan thinks of all this plz n thnks.

Would need to see the metadata date/timestamps from Truck's photos to make a fair ruling.

I take meticulous photos of all my prints for homeowners insurance purposes and I could just as easily use those same photos that are years old to list a print for sale today.

And the cap showed no evidence of having been popped off and retaped?

So, from now on it’s totally acceptable to mislead a buyer by telling them a damaged print is mint.
You take blurry pictures and say, “ how do these pictures look?”
After the buyer asks you flat out to be his eyes about any damage, you can say tough fudge, you should have looked at the pictures more closely.
Sure, I said there was no issues, but you didn’t say anything about the pictures.
Then it’s perfectly acceptable to pass the poster off on someone and just give them a discount that you determine.

Cmon guys...

This isn’t right.

^ It’s a shitty deal, in my opinion. Like I said in my previous post, I would not want a drymounted up print in my file and I wouldn’t want a discount to compensate for it either.

I understand that. What I'm saying is, when were those photos taken? They could be from four years ago, or six months ago. Or were they moments before he rolled the print and put it in the tube. Timing is everything. I doubt that toilet paper tissue caused the damage because more of the left side edge of the print would be crushed as well.
