Hi there,
I'm new to art collection, and have a question about a print I'm interesting in purchasing. It's priced on application, but as the print is signed by the artist, yet unnumbered, I'm unsure as to whether its unnumbered status hurts its value, specifically as the dealer is inviting me to make an offer, rather than quote a price.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Was the print initially released as a numbered limited edItion print? Are there other markings on the print, such as perhaps AP?

Some artists will not always number their AP copies. I know I have several Matt Taylor AP's with no numbering on them.

In most cases it just represents an open run(more may be made) with a larger volume. As with AP's they are very limited to small batches usually.

A number without context is meaningless.
