Is Everyone in the Facebook Print Groups Angry and Bitter?
To note, this is a DIFFERENT person/possible alt that got on his high horse about how all above cost sales are flips, everyone's a hypocrite, only lottos are fair, and something along the lines of "it's against the Constitution". Unless somebody beats me to the screenshots, can throw in after work.

What's the reaction you're noticing? Does it have to do with secondary market prices?
Well, every gallery has flops - and in this day and age where everything has been milked dry, we have tons of flops... but flops aside -
If you are cultivating a culture where you have a large customer base that buys to resell, you're immediately putting more of your 'scarce' commodity on the market. It drives up value short term, but ultimately it's always going to be accessible - and more oft than not in the pop culture scene - it'll be a race to the bottom on resell price.Whereas, if you do you best to curb that segment, less go on the secondary market, value rises, etc.
That being said, at the end of the day its all subjective anyway, so who cares. If you're building a business model based on hype alone, you're not building it to last - especially with pop culture ephemera. I think we all know what company does that.
Speaking of not built to last, I haven't bought anything from Mondo since the "Drop" was incorporated, and with SDCC releases around the corner, it's time for their annual one good poster a year release. Seems like it'll be impossible with all these culinary experts in the scene now.

If you think this years Mondo's releases haven't been great for resale... I don't know what to tell you. Maybe we're just looking at different secondary markets
Also the art and printing have stepped up as well, the Godzilla series is some of their best. Def still have a few scratchy 18*24 but the new printing on those 24*36 is top notch.

Not even that. If you take away the flip perspective, art wise mondo has quietly had a really strong year. LOL at one good poster a year. They’ve had some abysmal showings for sure but this year has been pretty good art wise. I don’t even really collect pop culture stuff anymore but their output has been strong as has BNGs. Also after reading this thread. Good to know where Rero ended up. Glad he was able to fulfill his bot destiny.

I know it's been fine for resale. That was my point, everything that Mondo releases is always available immediately on the secondary market.ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 2:34 pmIf you think this years Mondo's releases haven't been great for resale... Can't say the same for BNG releases. All I'm saying is, let's watch how that plays out longterm.
Also all I'm saying is it's all subjective so who cares.

Limited prints, serious bidness, as applicable as ever...
