You know what's weird. I'm in some comic book art groups and I've noticed:
1. People don't seem to hang out there and post constantly like they do in the poster groups.
2. They aren't filled with hate and irony.
I can't figure out why these poster groups seem to be filled with people looking to attack people? Like when they go after someone they just end up being these massive pile-ons.

Poster groups are more community driven. I imagine lots more actual friendships and even just ppl who they’ve met irl like screenings and concerts.

Some lady got slammed for trying to sell posters too high and then blaming it on dudes attacking her so everyone did a pile-on.

You are in the wrong groups. There are a few comic groups that make the print groups look like AA meetings. Part of the reason I left that hobby.

from the NYtimes..
Increasingly, I’ve felt that online engagement is fueled by the hopelessness many people feel when we consider the state of the world and the challenges we deal with in our day-to-day lives.
Online spaces offer the hopeful fiction of a tangible cause and effect — an injustice answered by an immediate consequence. On Twitter, Facebook, we can wield a small measure of power, avenge wrongs, punish villains, exalt the pure of heart.

You would think it’s possible for the simple world of the print collecting hobby to come together? Right ? :hanging:
Well, it’s so competitive, and sometimes big money involved , and the rise of bots have added to the collective angry tone .
So groups naturally become a grievance outlet . which is not so fun.
I appreciate the EB usually has a better , and more friendly vibe about it , let’s keep it that way ! :pint:

Some people are really salty about people selling a print for anything over cost. I tried selling a recently sold print for under what ebay was asking and I got chastised to no end. I use that term "chastised" lightly too. lolol.

Are there people who sell them for cost in fb groups? Lol.

Edit: sorry, Meta groups! Luls.
