Used to get a slap on the wrist on EB years gone by for even mentioning bots
Or banned!

Ps the answer to the OP: bots. It's bots. Just kidding, it's not always bots. You can get good at Shopify if you put in the time. All my best scores this year have been with my favorite bot from thesehands.io, check them out.

I've seen this for years but never payed much attention but figured I'd ask. I see people putting up prints for sale the night before a mondo drop. They seem to get every single drop. How does one do that?
FWIW, and this is just juan man's opinion...

I have been super lucky over the years, or I guess super skillful with some luck thrown in? I've never used a bot and have been successful I'd say about 95% of the time I went for something. More than anything, the reason for success is preparation and knowledge of each particular drop and it's idiosyncrasies. This could be something as simple as someone who still uses Paypal for a drop (ha) vs. someone who knows how to use auto-fill for every field and has things dialed in.

A close second is simple hand/eye coordination. You can have one person who THINKS they are doing something really quick, but they are actually a good 5-10 seconds behind someone who actually has top skills in hand/eye speed and coordination. Those micro-seconds count.

And also important is the actual speed of your connection, although once you are at a certain speed, I think this becomes less and less important.

Finally, having the right attitude is paramount. Go in KNOWING you are going to score, but then if you don't, learn what you can from the experience and immediately put that failure in your rear view mirror. "There's always another drop."

I laugh now when I think back to simple times when we were posting our upload/download internet speeds. Most of us were on an even playing field when it came to speed back then. I'm not going to say there haven't been a few prints I would have liked to pick-up, but I'm not inclined to try - competing with the bots.

in this day and age the only way to beat bots is by going full telephone order with a manual confirmation from the seller point, this would never be as profitable to the artist as it is to just watch them sell online. Another way would be to do true random drops, "i dont know when , i dont know what time but at some point this week", with a call confirmation.

ask yourself if you would really invest in those ideas as an artist, compared to just set it and forget it style of a website.

For an example of how bots work, just check out the sneaker bot videos on youtube like this one around the 9 min mark

If you posted this a few years ago, not only would you be banned, but you'd probably also get the death penalty

At this point we have moar than we all need anyway. If you miss something you can't live without, sell other fudge and buy it later.
