Just the exclsuive variants from Tobin's Blue Velvet and Pittides's Klowns went somewhat fast. I get what your saying but if your a fan of the artist/film combos, and have the scratch, I could see paying upfront, not to have to worry about drops or anything, being worth it.ethnosax wrote:But they'll be available for general sale anyway, right? What's the point of the sub? Has any of their stuff sold out quickly?

House on haunted hill or The Fly I could see for Vance.ethnosax wrote:I like that the final poster could be for Laura (finally!), but I wouldn't choose Vance Kelly for that one.

Yes there will be an online drop for every poster. Subscribers just get the same # for every poster or regular/variant matching numbers. They have the possibility to hold back posters for combined shipping. Poster #7 is for subscribers only, and will be voted. But if you are not fully into it I'd wait for the drop. Til now nothing sold out so quick you were not able to get it.ethnosax wrote:But they'll be available for general sale anyway, right? What's the point of the sub? Don't do it to yourselfs..
So, on the one hand, you save on shipping and get the same little number written in the corner of each poster.
On the other hand, you commit to buying eight posters that haven't yet been created, the last of which you don't even know what movie the poster will be for, you have to choose now whether you want only the regular version or the regular and the variant version of these posters you haven't seen yet, and you'll receive all of these in probably two years from now at the earliest.
Ok, just wanted to make sure I understood the pluses and minuses.

Now, I'm not saying Mad Duck is going to go down this path. The prints that have been created with the company have been good quality (although, dangerously close to the DHM Peanuts path with all the He-Man material), and they are licensed, so that's a plus. But, given reports of slow shipping already, and the fact that the bonus print is a Vance Kelly print (who, I don't need to tell most folks, takes more than a wet week to get a print organised sometimes), and a two year plan time, there's already alarm bells ringing.
It's your money. If you're a gambler, fine. If not, keep in mind that these are Vincent Price prints that, realistically, are not highly sought after IP's, meaning that when they do drop, they'll be easily available.

There is absolutely no reason to pre buy posters from Mad Duck.
They tend to have 2 or 3 editions per print. Some have as many as 5. High numbered runs. And very few sell outs.
