Wouldn't make Mondo's top 10 in their golden years.
It's one you have to see in person, and have seen the film, so I guess technically the bare minimum to be in a position to judge it's place :)

Pretty sure that the logic behind ''you need to see the movie to appreciate the movie poster'' is flawed.

I've been saying this for months. 2016 was the worst year for art Ive seen.
And with all that took place, it should have been one of the best.

My choices...

Cinema Print of the Year
Image
* There were a lot of strong contenders to choose from. But Tomer did a fantastic job with this poster. I really like the poignant image and colors on both the regular and variant editions.

Poster of the year
Image
* This category felt weaker overall. Peacocks and bats are cool. Foil edition is neat to look at.

Art Print of the Year
Image
* There were a lot of strong prints in this category as well. Happy to see people voting for Esao  I went with "Hangover III" over "Stray II" because the vibe in "Hangover III" feels happier and I'm trying to be more optimistic.

I hadn't seen an actual photo of the poster. Now I get why so many people dig it.

Cinema Poster

so subtly unsubtle. Just nails it.

Gig Poster

yes, it's a tribute ...a drymounting brilliant one.

Art Print

printed by the goddamn Adachi Institute for Woodblock prints on handmade paper made by a Japanese national living treasure.

I don't feel like there was anything that made people/the internet crowd collectively ZOMG ISO WT OLDER STOUTS but there definitely wasn't a lack of pretty good options overall. No top of the mountain but still some entries that are pretty high up.
