That's the same smiling face he has on his series of puppies in boxes, right? Sort of? Only thing I can think of. Also, who cares?
It is a smiling face....just like every kid has been drawing since they were 2 years old.
They both use Kawaii style facial expressions, but so do TONS of other artist...it's just a style of art.
Overall all odd to call out Rory Kurtz for painting based on a Toy/Pin that 100% Soft released 6 months ago in a style that he has been using for years.

The only similarity to MM is that it reminds me of Jason Edmiston's take on JLUs.
