PangeaSeed Foundation is pleased to announce a very special timed release print edition, Moriría Por Ti, in collaboration with supporting artist Tristan Eaton.

"Moriría Por Ti" is a call to action. With upwards of 100 million sharks killed annually for the global trade in shark fin, we must act now if we wish to save these incredibly important species from extinction. The oceans are the lungs of the planet and for over 400 million years sharks have balanced the delicate ocean ecosystem that all life on Earth depends on for survival.

However, in the past 50 years, humans have wiped out over 90% of the oceans big fish, including sharks, due to destructive fishing and consumption practices. Vote with you dollar and do not support the trade in endangered wildlife. Together, via art and activism, we can help save our seas.

Proceeds from this print release benefit PangeaSeed Foundation's efforts to harness the power of art, science and creativity to generate awareness, stimulate dialogue, change perception, and inspire positive change around pressing ocean environmental issues.

Artist Statement:

"PangeaSeed Foundation works for a beautiful cause: '…to harness the power art, science, and creativity to generate awareness and inspire positive change around pressing ocean environmental issues'. As an artist, I feel honored to have my work contribute to this cause and help PangeaSeed Foundation further their goals.

Back in 2014, I painted a mural on Isla Mujeres, Mexico for PangeaSeed's Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans project that inspired this print. I chose to paint a majestic, 100ft+ shark with the text: ‘Moriria Por Ti’ which translates to ‘I Would Die For You’. I hoped to make a statement about how much marine life such as Whale Sharks are effected and threatened by human life, human greed and industrial activity. They are literally dying for us.

PangeaSeed Foundation needs our help to raise awareness and support of this worthy cause. 100% of the profits from this print will go to PangeaSeed so they can continue advocating for marine life in danger across the globe via art and activism. Please join me in raising awareness for our oceans."

Love it, but far too expensive.

Does seem pricey, especially for a timed edition. 10 color screen print on top of a giclee as well? I would be interested to know what elements are screen printed.

It's nice, but I prefer Predator over this. I'm not crazy about the cropped fins. Predator was larger (36x14) 9-color screen print of 75 for only $100. This is a decent alternative, aesthetically speaking.

i may be looking at this a little too deep, but i believe the fins missing may be the meaning of the print

I understand that as well, the Predator print had full fins and it really makes a difference for people who enjoy sharks/shark art collecting. Personally I would prefer a shark who still has his/her fins on my wall ;)

I'm on the fence. I have been planning on framing my Predator print, and am wondering if the two would look good together on a wall.
