interesting artwork -- can't put my finger on who did this or if it has any relevance to who might be doing the posters next weekend

Kelly also tweeted earlier this summer and when I asked him if it was for Phish Bend he sent a smiley face as if to say "you are partially right" --- I bet it's Rich Kelly -- let's call it good investigative work

There are only 2 layers, the background blend and then the gold. The majority of these were completely printed using an automated press, for the demonstration on Friday Jim had about 15 or 20 of each that already had the blend layer printed and he printed the gold layer using his hand pressbryndavies wrote:dmm8878 wrote:I believe some were printed on site. Someone who got a set mentioned the ink not being completely dry when they were rolled, so there was some ink smudge noticeable when they go them home.Browntrout wrote:I never made it to the booth to see JP's printing demo. So these prints were all printed in Chicago and just S/N'd at Magna?hayward96 wrote: Jim said he made these because the band told him he would be in a pyramid. There was a metal pyramid shaped structure above his booth. The writing at the top goes from right to left because that is how they write in that part of the world.
The top translates to 2015 first column, 21, 22, 23 in the second column, August in the 3rd column, and Phish in the 4th column, so from right to left it reads
Phish August 21 22 23 2015
First layer or two were done prior to shows. Last layer or two done at the shows.

So first layer done n Chicago, last/second done on site?

Only a handful had the gold layer printed on site, the majority had both layers printed in Chicago. Jim mentioned it takes 24-36 hours for each layer to dry, so it takes a few days or more to get the entire process completed.bryndavies wrote:So first layer done n Chicago, last/second done on site?

I have to say that one of the coolest experiences in my poster collecting and/or Phish memory banks is being behind Trey's parents in line at Jim's pop-up studio on Sunday, seeing him give huge hugs to everyone, overhearing the Anastasios thank Jim for all he's done, and Jim saying "thanks for your son" in return...
i'm a pretty good guesser. just wanted you guys to know that, haapplehead wrote:any guesses for the dicks print? who usually does prints for the tour that hasnt popped up yet? Kelly? Stout? idk.
still a tad disappointed Pollock has never ever done a CO print.

Nah, those are great. Love the shadow play and title treatment and the characters have a classier feel than many Kellys. And not sure how many other official phish prints use the zeroman pattern? Definitely an overused theme in phan merch but awesome to see it on an official print.
