The animation was really solid, and I appreciate the challenges of anthropomorphizing mountains in a way that gets people emotionally engaged. But the song was atrocious, and the filmmakers didn't succeed in creating an emotional connection with me (or anyone I saw it with). Their run of shorts from 2000-2010 was amazing. I love almost everything Pixar does (and I'm sure they couldn't care less what I don't like). But Lava left me scratching my head. :?

Curious to know if you guys think it's up to par with their earlier shorts from a storytelling standpoint. Apologies for derailing the thread a bit.

My girlfriend enjoyed Lava more than Inside Out. Resulted in me looking like the gif binky just posted, thinking about whether to tell her I had already purchased a $70 print for the movie.

I liked Inside Out. I loved Lava. That song is a damn earworm.

I was recently told by my framer that any screen print should be rolled image out because rolling it image in is crushing the inks together where are image out isn't putting as much stress on the inks.... Personally only ever received Horkey ODIR and this when it lands rolled that way tho.

That's standard for giclees. Never rolled a screen print image out though.

If I may refer to the wisdom of artist Kyle Baker:
Kyle Baker wrote:Image
Usually when you buy Shags, or any pricey screenprints really (not from the secondary market) they are also rolled this way. Obey stuff too (though sometimes they aren't. Not sure why) I mean, suppose the inks we use were liable to chub rub, by rolling onto the inks there would be chub rubs. If you flip it around it doesn't happen. So...

Huh? These inks won't chub rub. Just saying you if you were to roll a print that could chub rub, it'd chub rub if you rolled into the image, but wouldn't if you rolled it the reverse way.
