It's is taking so long to do but I'm feeling happy with the results ☺️ This piece will be part of my #minnesotakillingseason set so I have left areas of the owl unfinished to add on the deadly flora and fauna later, although the fauna will be more dead than deadly, it will be skulls of fauna (ooh I'm pinching that for a band name!) to be accurate

That owl is going to be incredible, especially after the skulls and such. Minnesota killing season set, eh? Excellent

I just got a chance to unpack the nice, large box that Vanessa sent my way :)

This was about eight or so months in the making and I can't speak more highly of Vanessa. She is an absolute joy to work with and talk to. I'll never hesitate to jump at any of her releases going forward. She's fantastic!

I originally threw out several ideas, one of which included her trying her hand an doing her best rendition of one of the famous Horkey Helmeted Bids, but after some conversation we landed on her working on my two non-fictional brids. The Stallar's Jay and Cedar Waxwing. After her initial sketch (which she nailed), we were off to the races! My only guiding requests were that the final drawings be 12" x 16", and work well as a pair. She chose the poses, and suggested the use of the gold leaf circle, which I couldn't be happier with.

Here's the initial sketch:

Her packaging is top notch too! She goes above and beyond with every detail:

Last but not least, I had to take the chance to finally capture one of her bees!
