Vanessa Foley's Aviary
She is working on knocking out some more bees to give some a shot at them who didnt get a crack after the last drop had the issues that it did. Not sure when she is releasing them, but that is the reason she did more.

So good.
She painted it in watercolour first thenover painted in oils. I love the light thrown by the arrows. Also The Two Arrows is a Buddhist tennant which she was thinking about when painting it. Look it up.

This one is mine... Desert Dumpling

I found out about Christina and Zoe via their Kickstarter for their Intricacies book that came with this print...

vanessafoley wrote:Finally on the right track after few false starts on this piece, I wanted my Tawny Owl to have the perfect mix of innocence and menace in those big eyes to tie in with the Aesop's Fable (The Owl and the Grasshopper) I will be working into the drawing. This graphite on paper drawing will be heading to @plasticmurs gallery in Spain for their 'Lapiz, papel o tijera' show. There's an absolutely stellar line up for this group show and if you're a fan of graphite work it's definitely one to keep an eye (or two) on!

Barn owls are currently listed as endangered due to habitat loss and are my current obsession, so it's been a lovely few days working on this fellowPS I will be hosting a mini oil painting giveaway in the next few days so stay tuned!

A fitting title for this Barn owl graphite drawing, these stunning birds are endangered in many parts of the world due to loss of habitat. This piece will be part of the Brink exhibition (opening this Thursday, all very welcome) at @antlerpdx and a portion is the proceeds of this show will be donated to @portlandaudubon society. If anyone would like a preview of the show please email the gallery at antlerpdx@gmail.com
