Why don't they just leave them up until they're sold out? Oh well!

You know how the game works.

POW perfected the game of trickling out availability to create false demand and force fans/customers to make quick irrational decisions. The longer someone has to decide over making a purchase, the more likely they will decide against it. Cleon uses Big Cartel which has inventory control, someone has to purposely log in and trickle out the prints. Unfortunately, many artists do this. Pose is another artist who has been doing the same thing with his recent releases.

Just look at the poster above who bought the black version. They actually wanted the white version but were falsely lead to believe it was sold out. Quick irrational purchasing.

well played, especially with most of his releases there are multiple colorways.

I look at it a different way and it works for me. I am a huge fan of an artist. I know they are releasing a print so I follow them as closely as possible to get their print which shows up at random times rather than a set time where flippers line up. You see less flipping this way with editions compared to a Shepard Fairey who releases an edition all at once and you see 10% of the prints end up on eBay.
