I can't stand how the letters in "tion" are more compressed and have much tighter kerning that the first two lines. the bottom line makes the composition unbalanced because the letters are squeezed in there as if he ran out of room and kept tweaking it until it fit. would have been better to go with a rectangular shape instead of a square to give all the letters the same size and weight.

i think either:

RE
VOL
UTI
ON

or

REVO
LUTI
ON

would have looked better and more balanced.

The O from the second and third line look the same to me. I am running low on sleep so I could be a bit off.

The O is the same size. But as fribhey said, there isn't much room for the four-letter row to breathe - look at the gaps in the lower row vs the upper rows. It does draw the eye right away.

Ahhh I see what he is saying. The spacing between the letters should of been the same the whole way out. The last line is crunched a bit in that aspect.

the two "O"s are not the same, they have the same height but not the same width.

Girth is very important.

the entire bottom line is compressed, look at how thick the left lines (stems) of the E and L are and how skinny they are in the "t" and "i". i love eine but the typography just isn't good in this print.

as a designer, these kinds of things drive me nuts.
