Huh?
Maybe he thinks that's Justin?

Edit: Maybe that's the new occupant of the Mondo gallery. If so, someone find out their camping/line policy.

Is mondo's base of operations elsewhere? I don't know why but I assumed that all the work and shipping and stuff was done at the gallery space like other galleries do.

They have a separate processing facility, I think with offices as well, in another part of town . Gallery was just for shows and for local order pickup, when that was still a think.

Great memories there. I had only been by 1-2 times the last few years but sad to see it close. List of shows over the years, though incomplete: https://mondoshop.com/blogs/gallery

Personal favorites
  • Mondo Gallery Opening: March 2012 I think. I showed up 45 minutes early and thought at the time it was so weird to wait in a line for something like this. Stout Khan, Ansin Brazil, Drake Rachael, Shaw The Fly, ect
  • The Art of Laurent Durieux (the first one): wow.. so many great posters in one room plus sketches showing the evolution of his ideas from start to final form. My wife swung by Saturday and was able to PB most of the full show including the last copy of The Birds. 2014 was a long time ago...
  • WBYK Harsh Majical. drymounting rad
  • Mike Mitchell's first portrait show
  • House Show: It was really cool to get to see some rare stuff in person (Slater Goldfinger variant, Stout GOTG metal, ect)
  • Universal Monsters: I don't have a personal affinity for these movies but the art for them was always top notch
edit- can't forgot the first few flat file sales :pint:

First exhibition:

Only ever made it to Stout/Taylor and first Durieux exhibition. Two solid events tho.

EB should rent out some space and share the school with Mondo & Alamo

I wouldn't hold your breath. Rumor from the inner circle, they (Alamo Drafthouse) has been secretly looking for either an angel investor or a buyer for a while now going back before 2019. Unfortunately they are having a hard time convincing potential bidders once they start to see the debt that's on the books. And now with COVID those books just got anchored to a gigantic weight that is sinking quickly into the abyss. Speaking of, there hasn't been any really spectacular Abyss prints in recent memory. Someone should get on that, Tyler?

Why buy now when you can at rock bottom prices later. Not like anyone is going to change those spaces fast.
