New World got off to a good start, but the third act lost it completely. Could make a nice poster though. Tree of Life was just okay and To The Wonder had turrible Ben Affleck (really?). I haven't seen Knight of Cups but I've read bad things... Thin Red Line is fantastic though, and that matters right now.

To be fair To the Affleck's part in To the Wonder was mostly just him shown walking around from behind. I enjoyed it it (but I'm a big Malick fan).

I still pinch myself whenever I think about the fact that Mondo is doing a Malick series.

I asked Mondo on twitter if they have Hanuka lined up for the whole series:

Re: New World
I actually like it more and more each time I see it. It really works for me, and the ending is haunting yet perfect.
Totally get if it doesn't work for other folks though.
Think likeness for that is not on the table.Diabolos80 wrote:Mondo's got him doing Fight Club next. Right?

Malick fans should check out Krisha when it opens on March 18th. The director, Trey Edward Schults, worked in the camera department on a few Malick films and hit it out of the park with his debut. It played at SXSW and won the Grand Jury Award and the Audience Award. He filmed it at his mom's house and his family makes up most of the cast, but the movie is surprisingly well done. I covered it at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival: http://www.nerdlocker.com/movies/housto ... tival-2015
