I hope they release Akiko's Portrait of a Lady on Fire. It's with Neon, so maybe it'll happen.

EDIT: Mondo, not that auction.
She was supposed to have a show in August here in LA but it was delayed. There were going to be prints available for that show including Portrait. She says it's been postponed until next year.
Excited to see that show. Her work is incredible. She doesn't really get mentioned much but man her stuff is so so good.

Also the backlash I have read from these idiots regarding mondo releasing a wrestling print. "mondo lost its prestige". Yeah when a company is releasing such iconic pieces of art as madballz and drymounting shark tikis, I can understand why y'all think a rasslin print would make mondo appear to be less than prestigious.....

Smart move going with them over eBay. they have a sizable community base of movie poster collectors. Wouldn't be surprised if some oddball stuff fetches much higher prices than what we're used to seeing. I'm really excited to see what's available from the 2000-2005 timeframe.
We'll see. Their website looks like it's from the fuggin 90's and my understanding is their primary collector group is from one sheets and fudge, not modern limited editions. There's no questioning that there'd be way more eyes on an Ebay auction tho.

In a statement, League said, "100% of proceeds from the sale will go towards paying staff of the Alamo Drafthouse and paying debt and expenses accrued during the COVID closures. These next four to six months are critical and the proceeds from this auction will help immensely. If you are a Mondo collector, if you have a movie fan in your life who would like something unique under the Christmas tree this year, or if you have never purchased a poster before, we invite everyone to explore the incredible history of nearly 15 years of beautiful poster design in this auction.”

There's no way these get shipped and arrive in time for Christmas.
emovieposter is handling shipping and they do a few thousand auctions a week if I recall. USPS sucks these days tho...

Goes without saying but it's a bummer that Tim has to resort to selling his personal collection to keep the company afloat
How are they going to get from Tim's basement to Missouri?

I'm inferring that the lot of 2,000 is already with them, which possibly might not be the case

I’m sure that’s the case. They inspect and photograph everything first before listing it.

I obviously don't know either. Regardless, there's no way they are all in mint to near-mint condition.
