I know it's always said and never happens but it would be nice if Mondo had some Oscar related pieces planned. I wouldn't mind some posters for Black KKKlansman, The Favourite, Roma, Shoplifters, Cold War or Buster Scruggs.
"__________ is one of my favorite movies ever but that poster doesn't do it for me. -E.B.

I understand why they stopped doing it as it was really hard to make happen in the time frame it needed to happen, but I kind of wish they would just drop 1 Oscar related poster on the night.35mmpaul wrote:mondo hasn't done oscar drops in 6 years. im gonna say its not gonna happen.
eh. i have no emotional attachment to having a print online drop happen at the time of a movie release, or oscars night.
They are never in hand and take months to print and ship.
Only time it really matters is if they hold a screening and the print isnt in hand.
People complain about big releases not having prints the day they are released for big movies.
then when they do, its usually for movies that people don't really care too much about and dont care about the prints.
moral of the story is, if the art is good, you'll buy it whenever its ready to purchase.

I thought it was a fun night when they dropped the Stout Django. The mystery to what and when things would drop added some fun to the drop. Same for the black friday release with Danger Psycho and Moss Bride. It makes an otherwise boring drop more of an event. I couldn't care less about when I get it or when the movie came out as long as I like the print, it's just fun to have a little mystery and excitement.

those days are longgggg gone. i mean i know all the old timers kicking around here still know that. im in a kill joy mood for whatever reason.
i mean, Id be shocked if there was ever a mystery movie again. or oscar night.
it just seems that the current MO for mondo is to bring in new people as much as possible and keep some people around.

Or at least avoid doing things that suddenly make people freak out at them because they can't be up late F5ing all night or be on twitter for the surprise drop or whatever.
This fudge ain't fun, it's an addiction apparently.
