Definitely going for the vinyl, but the poster is an easy pass. Feels like more milked artwork like Alien.
The PCC is cool, just wish they'd start giving more work to other artists.
I'm with ya, I'll be going for the vinyl. I think I prefer Ortiz's (I know, it's not for Mondo) Cannibal Holocaust to this one, as much as I love Jock.
Agreed, Ortiz made it classy and artistic. But stoked to get the Vinyl score finally...
Probably helps that the Ortiz' was meant to be a movie poster instead of a vinyl cover.
But agreed.
I like the visceralness of Jock's work on that skull but yeah...it's one thing to wonder about the Stout Alien being a one-off situation but if this is gonna be a trend with Mondo then I'm not a fan.

Only because they made Jason look way too bulky (almost a little fat) around the shoulders, and it looks like he has no neck. CJ Graham, who played Jason in the vast majority of the movie, looked way more lean. Also, his face was skinnier than the mask.
I know it's totally the artist's take, and I get that he's kinda hunched over & looking down - this is just me being SUPER geeky and irrational. The poster looks really, really cool, and I shouldn't be bothered by these tiny things...
I agree. He looks cartoonishly bulky in it. Kind of ruins an otherwise rad print, imo (there's always something, dammit). I like how it matches up w/ The Burning (even though I don't own it). He's leaned out in part VI because, well, maggots, etc. No time to eat when you've been dead and buried for awhile.

I really like both pieces. I love that jock used his style but collaged it together. Not a fan of negative space but there is so much detail in the skull that I think it works. The PCC, I can see the problems with but as a poster I think it looks cool. Not one of the great scenes and the Jason is weird but the poster itself looks pretty menacing. Definitely looking for a PB.

Wasted talent IMO, in both Stout's and Jock's cases.
Quality > quantity, wish they would stop pumping stuff out and give their other artists a shot. Would love to see more work by these guys, for example. They had one shot and knocked it out of the park, just wish they had better subjects.

Still wish we got more Ruas, Magnolia was magnificent. To be fair I'd buy the fudge out of that album though.

For Magnolia? Great soundtrack. Turned me into an Aimee Mann fan.

Prefer Ortiz's CH as well. Can't envision a scenario where I could hang Jock's take on the material. It'd definitely be an interesting conversation piece though.
