The cost of storing Funko's surplus inventory now greatly exceeds the total value of the product. So they're throwing it all away.

$30 million worth of vinyl plastic toys in the landfill.

This is both an environmental atrocity and a massive missed opportunity to partner with a nonprofit to donate these toys to kids in need.

I wish I could say this is an isolated incident, but Atari buried 700k game cartridges during the video game crash in the early 80's and just last week, 'Magic the Gathering' dumped $100k worth of cards into a landfill. Still, shame on Mondo for partnering up with these folks.

that's a drymounting shame. yeah, why not donate the fudge?

O-Pee-Chee years ago did the same with 1,000's of bulk cases of hockey cards one year. They made way too many and the market was dry. Still to this day I wonder where they were buried...maybe they're on Oak Island

I bet 30% of it was new star wars. $30M is 1000's of loser projects that should have never been approved.

They have so much to write off still on the shelves from any products of those movies.

Funko bought Mondo from Alamo, they didn't enter a partnership...
