I suppose an argument could be made that they saved the GID elements for the lightsources on the alien saucers. And the title, being part of the poster but not part of the fictional scene the poster is depicting, is non-GID because it isn't a lightsource like the alien lights. I guess what I mean is that it's not technically part of the action.
That's the only way I could justify the decision. But even if that were the reasoning, you still have to ask why the lasers aren't GID too if we're following the 'alien light source' logic.
IMO, no matter how you dice it having the title non-GID is a shame. It just dominates a huge part of the poster both literally and figuratively.

The variant is a different color palette it's not just GID as a differentiator. I always see GID more as a gimmick anyway.
Having a different medium, color palette or composition is the only reason I'll chose one or both.
I was torn between these two based on both color schemes working so well so I just grabbed both to decide.

Those are all gimmicks too ... as is the movie title in a different language.rubberneck wrote:I always see GID more as a gimmick anyway.

Variants are gimmicks by nature.

Not always. Sometimes one color palette just works better than the other.FlapJack wrote:Those are all gimmicks too ... as is the movie title in a different language.rubberneck wrote:I always see GID more as a gimmick anyway.

Variant is not always the more successful of the two, mind you, but sometimes can just be a better personal fit for the customer.

Been a while since I've been asked to shoot something or had something to shoot. Was surprised at seeing both a gold and silver metallic layer.
Also picked this up today.
