I can't remember, but did Rob/Mitch own part of mondo, or just managers/curators of the brand? Can't remember the lineage of the brand.

Meeting in a church parking lot with no idea what was going to happen and seeing 6 buses pull up, load into them, get escorted by the police down the highway, wheel into an abandoned mall and hear the bus driver say GET OFF THE BUS while it was being attacked by zombies is gonna be tough to beat for mystery movie experiences. RIP mondo

that's just awesome
It really was. And then once we were inside the mall and seated Justin came out eating a baby 😂
..and seeing George Romero in the flesh and wondering what was up with that WBYK Shining Print..

Rob, Mitch, and Eric were the owners, right? Rob and Mitch definitely were and I thought there was one more owner.

I guess Mondo went out with a bang with that big auction sale they did a few months back. Again I find it odd they saved #16 on a bunch of their prints just to hold them off for an auction. I clicked over 100 prints on that auction sale and they were all #16. To me that sounds like some shady business because they know full well their prints skyrocket in value over time.
Huh? It's completely legitimate for them to hold back part of print runs for their own archive. They probably kept numbers 1 through 20 to use for themselves I'm guessing. Artists do that all the time. They aren't required to sell their entire print run all at once.

come on now. They have no obligation to sell every print during initial drop. Why wouldn't they hold some back either for their personal collection or other reasons. fudge, see this all the time with Chuck Sperry and EMEK prints. Let the artists and curators make some money. Maybe #16 was their favorite number, and maybe they needed some additional funds and sold their personal allotment. You honestly can't think that they knew the prints would "skyrocket" in value over time...pssh. Not every print is gold.

lolz at people who think that,

- only the edition size is printed and no other copies exist.
- that no unnumbered copies are held back incase of shipping damages.
- that no one high up in mondo or alamo got personal copies.
- that the movie poster auctions were mondo themselves, holding back posters in the hopes of doing 'shady business because they know full well their prints skyrocket in value over time.'

like....what do you think nets more value, printing 100s or 1000s at $50 and selling those.
OR
One person selling one print 5-10 years later at completely varying levels of value.
jkw3000 - Nobody ever really wins in this hobby.
Olly - I'm a hack asshole unable to provide you with what you want.

saving print #16 sounds more like a sillly quirk than something insidious.

They are regularly referred to as founders of Mondo, so they definitely had some ownership.

When you let people go like this, any kind of "non-compete" clause gets invalidated. There's no way to defend it. The firing of these people invalidates anything in those contracts, and there's a trend against upholding "non-compete" clauses, in general, because they're so anti-worker.
As an attorney who litigates these types of cases, this is incorrect. The practicalities of enforcing a noncompete rarely align with whether a noncompete is actually enforceable under the law. But firing someone does not automatically render a noncompete invalid (at least in the US).
