I keep seeing posts and emails promoting this auction, which isn't unusual when proceeds are going somewhere charitable. But does this one benefit any particular organization, or does it go directly to the galleries? I'm sure the galleries have suffered during COVID, so I suppose they could use the help too.
It got me thinking: Did Mondo send out an email promoting the emovieposter auction that benefited the employees of the Drafthouse? It was just odd to see an email from them promoting this particular auction. I'm curious to its significance.

Ken with Spoke set the whole thing up, if I understand correctly. He just solicited contributions from Mondo.
The only thing more inflated than the selling prices for these prints will be Durieux's ego.

Its the OG poster auction site, and the first one done very well. Bruce is the PT Barnum of poster collecting, but he is good at what he does, and has staff that is second to none. I would also put their packaging and turn around time on items sold as the best there is. When Bruce/EMP decide to hang em up for good, it will be a huge loss for the collectors community.

Sometimes. The BP is misleading, and the condition descriptions at HA are a joke most times...they photoshop issues, change the brightness/contrast/etc on vintage paper especially.
So, no, EMP is better as a consumer hands down. Never had a bad experience with EMP, several bad ones at HA.
Also the 'prestige' with HA means nothing...sell your fudge at top dollar at Christies or Sotheby's, then you can strut around about it.
interesting everything was marked as 'mint' on HA. where as last mondo with EMP they marked everything as 'fine' with caveat that there were no noticeable issues unless noted.wonkabars7 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 1:47 pmSometimes.
