Right that's not an auction any more. An auction ends when the timer runs out and sells to the highest bidder. Getting "sniped"? No, you didn't get "sniped", someone put in a bid higher than yours and you lost. Why anyone anytime ever wouldn't wait until the very last minute to put in their highest bid is beyond me.

Back when I used to bid on Ebay auctions, sniping worked frequently. It's a mental thing. People see a high bid, and they want to "compete". If they don't know how high the bid will end up being, they may not be as worried about the competition, and won't put in as high of a bid as they "needed to".ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:27 pmRight that's not an auction any more. This. I’m no expert, but it seems like early bidding just hikes up the final sale price unnecessarily. Maybe the dynamic is different with this eMovie model. I guess since it won’t end until people stop bidding it kind of removes the incentive to wait? Although I guess you could sit there and refresh with a stopwatch lol. I think I prefer a standard style auction to this format, “snipes” and all.ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:27 pmWhy anyone anytime ever wouldn't wait until the very last minute to put in their highest bid is beyond me.

You mean it will end like any major auction house does auctions....once the bidding stops. Its a crazy idea.
You’re not winning a Picasso with a dollar over the last bid.BENYOUNG20 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 5:34 pmYou mean it will end like any major auction house does auctions....once the bidding stops. Its a crazy idea.
just a foil for me today, thanks
Right. Plus, like I said, it just drives up the price.
Yeah, this is what I’m worried about. Kinda hard to target specific prints and maintain fallback options while trying not to over extend yourself when everything ends at once, but might not end at once? Ridiculous.

no different than a real auction house. the bidding doesn't stop till it's called.

I think it's minimum $50 increments. At least that's what I noticed on the few I threw bids at.
I just can't wait to see the FS listings where people try to sell their stuff for more than what the auction went for. Quality lulz.

I am sorry for potentially ruining this thread, but I believe that this is the type of logic that is typically reserved for elections.
