People were crying over the Halo poster.
Seriously?!?
Yeah, but to their credit I haven’t bought anything from Mondo since the schedule release times so it probably is significantly more difficult than it used to be. I don’t think that calls for all the entitlement and people crying about the 5% that end up on eBay...

...but as someone who has been critical of ‘The Drop’ as a cheap marketing gimmick it feels like they cut off their nose something something spite the face. The Drop was implemented after a long, long, longggg stretch of subpar releases but it seems like they are releasing stuff that more people are interested in now the crybabies are oozing into every crevice they can find to complain.

Pretty sure some TrueFanz were even harassing them in their live stream panel the other day. I didn’t think it could get more pathetic than crying over Twitter but trolling a live chat with artists is a new low.

Is it time for shuffleboard yet?

portrait isn't from a24 and kurtz ain't from vacvvm, but i also thought that film might be an option when they said he did a foreign film everyone loved. or parasite, or an older foreign film everyone loved (does that exist?)

I hope they get someone like Lotay to do Portrait. Her perspective on a film that is already dominated by the female gaze seems appropriate over what would probably be just a lame Kurtz screencap.

As someone who has only been checking in every now and again recently, what happened to Stout, Moss and Horkey? Did they have a falling out with Mondo or are they just not making as much art?

Moss works at Valve now (previously Campo Santo on Firewatch) making Garfield VR. If I recall, someone did ask him if he'd ever re-enter the poster game and he didn't seem interested.

Well, we have to talk about something around here.

I think probably Horkey figured out it was more profitable to self-publish art prints, with some gig stuff thrown in for people he likes. I had to go back and look to see that The VVitch was all the way back in 2016. I didn't realize it had been that long! However, it looks like there could be something coming later this year with that a24 announcement.

Stout, I'll blame on . . . likeness rights, so we can branch into another old chestnut for 35mmpaul.

Didn't they announce a future Horkey print in one of the recent Happy Hours?

Moss is working in video games, Horkey apparently keeps busy already, same with Stout.

Outside of Moss, the fact that Stout and Horkey don't output a ton already via other avenues probably factors in. It's one thing if they weren't doing any Mondo work, it's another when I can't say their work in general is prolific on their own or with other galleries (though Stout's already switched it up and gone into working on those cutouts, so I guess that counts).
