despite having "spent hundreds of hours drawing, hundreds of hours making mistakes, and hundreds of hours agonizing over this" and it "being one of my favorite things I have done in years" - project was canned.

don't get me wrong, I just took the quotes above from the public IG feed. he was paid, worked on something, canned it, everyone got money back.

i'm sure it'll be released at some point in the future.

Follow up question - so when Mondo, BNG etc commission a print the artist gets paid up front first prior to approvals etc?

Apparently they just got the Michelangelo 1/6 scale figures in house and are going to start shipping them tomorrow. Just dug through my inbox and I put the order in for that guy in November of 2015.

Waiting ain't so bad.

D&L has received the metal sheets and are going to start printing Civil War soon.

Same. For once, I'd be happier with a textless version.

Also tired of hearing about the Gravity commission anytime something new of his pops up. We get it, he bailed and everyone was sad and mad. It's better he didn't waste any more time on a drymounting Gravity print anyways.
