We talk about all these tricks of the trade, but a lot of the re-sales seem to come from guys who are inactive the other 360 days a year... Maybe all they try for are big money posters, but tricking out bots and F5ing for hours seems like a lot of work for just a $200 payoff after fees and shipping.
hours???? who's doin this for hours ....^^^^this guy .... hours .... luls

200 feedbacks does not equal amateurs by any means

In terms of fixing Mondo: random drop time but open edition for one minute of sales. Keeps 'limited' and 'collectable' buzz words alive and well.

they can't just print as many as they want... that's not the way this works.

You keep saying "fix" like there is a problem that Mondo would have a vested interest in fixing.
Pick any verb you are more comfortable with.
My point being they have no problems to fix. As you can see, business is good and demand is high.

Proofs should be proofs and the run should be the run. Collectors should want it that way. AP copies that are just part of the run mean that you have no idea how big the run is. Tyler is one of the few doing it right. If the artist wants to sell copies the run size should reflect that.

No one needs to print 50 proofs. Any more than a few and it is not a proof anymore. A separate artists edition of an identical image is for sure bad form and could only serve to create confusion. The run is the run. the distribution mechanism is irrelevant. in one year do we really want to be distinguishing between the two. NOW, in this case that answer is in fact that we do, because the artist copies are signed. so it owuld not be the worst thing in the world to know how many are signed and how many are not....but then tyler should not sign them at events/shows for people after initial release.

They're technically not APs. It's the arrangement they have with a few of the big names, and have had it for years. Consider it part of their compensation for doing the work. Aaron has the same. I don't see how it would be any different as far as the end result goes.

I am just wondering why though? whats the advantage to the artist to not have APs and to split the run?

Yeah, no luck for me. I guess I'll have to rely on my regular method of going to the screenings at MondoCon, that is, until MondoCon gets so popular that I'm forced out of there are well.

...maybe if I become an employee of Mondo, or perhaps an artist...

I've got well over 500 and consider myself an amateur. Okay, maybe amateur is the wrong word. Part-timer, then.
