So Edmiston painted the Cooties poster based on a Shaw design? Interesting.

This was the absolute first mention of the cassette in this thread from over an hour after the drop:

that's the most hipster tweet I've ever read. :vomit:
This was a pretty accurate description of people's reaction to the drop here and in Mondo Trader among other places.
MoviePosterEmpire wrote:It was today. Nobody noticed.
Not sure why you're all making such a big deal about someone commenting on the lack of "OMG MONDO DROP" and making a joke about Elijah Wood? The property has no commercial buzz outside of very young kids and a few others and that's all I commented on. It's not a big deal. Not sure why everyone comes out and attacks me for totally unrelated things for such a lackluster comment. I'm actually kind of interested in who bought the 1,000 copies of a cassette for a property that only averaged 1.3 million viewers, most of whom are too young to be on the Internet and have never seen a cassette tape in their lives.
BavarianErin wrote:I think that is the exact point, just because YOU didn't know about it automatically makes you assume that NOBODY knows about it. There are LOTS of things you know nothing about MPE, but they still exist, are loved, are popular and have importance.
I didn't make the assumption that NOBODY knows about it, just that there was no talk about it. It was a completely passive drop in terms of talk about the item. Socially speaking, nobody did notice that it even happened here and on FB.

Movieposterempire running bad commissions, I think.
Please provide an example of a bad commission. Bad commission meaning lots of people who bought in who were unhappy.

I dig the Cooties one a lot. Though haven't seen the movie :|

Would like the Goodnight Mommy one more if Shaw didn't use that same font he always uses...or at least something very, very close

Just because people bought something doesnt mean it wasn't fudge. Most people have terrible taste. I know I do :pint: Just not bad enough to want that atrocity Mac and Me

It's a great poster without even having to see the movie associated with it.

Great work!

Cool. You weren't the target, the 8 people in the commission were. You probably won't see one of them on the market any time soon either. A bad commission is one where lots of people are looking to unload it for cost or less. The only thing that matters is that the people who bought in are happy with what they got. It's like you think I think Mac & Me is a good movie or that the art is groundbreaking. It's perfect for what it is.

I'm sure us on the poster threads were probably not the target for those cassettes. Kind of like the toy line - big market for those out there and not just for Mondo (those James Jean TMNT statues are sweet). Only thing that matters is that the people who bought them are happy with what they got.
