My last commission idea with Barret Chapman fell through because of lack of fan interest in the movie I chose.

I don't want to give up my spot with him.

Who is interested in a commission for Taxi Driver?
Screen Printed
36 x 24
Run of 150 or less!
Price depends on participation, but I'm guessing the $50-$75 range.
My thinking is this should not be floating heads, but perhaps a street scene where Travis is in his taxi watching people on the street.

There is a possibility of an online gallery selling this, but anyone who joins up would be guaranteed a poster.

If this poll has a good result, I'll be sure and go forward with this.

Taxi Driver is a great movie but I feel like you might have trouble getting 100 or so people on this one too.

Ansin so far has the be all end all Taxi Driver print. Image

I think Aaron Horkey's quote from the Mondo Blog about the print pretty much sums it up:

"Perfection."

Plenty of room for another great print.
We have some great ideas.

There are a few others out there as well:

You might get greater interest if you can get an artist to do a prelim sketch or concept pitch initially.

Interest has been great so far.
I'm not trying to best Ansin. For those who want another great poster, we are trying to have one done.
Our concept has not been done.

There are lots of great posters for many subjects.
Durieux's Jaws poster hasn't stopped anyone from making more for that franchise.

Interest is one thing, financial commitment is another.

Having something solid to offer means less trips on the 'interest thread' roundabout...

Wishing you luck but from experience with other commission groups, best to deal with the financials above all else...may end up costing your more than buying Ansin Taxi Driver at secondary market prices if you're not careful.

I'm not as plugged in to the poster groups as some. This is one of my few avenues for promotion.
Nothing is guaranteed, but I'm hoping interest keeps growing.
Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I might be interested. do you have any more details on the potential layout or colors?

avoiding a floating head collage as you mentioned (despite Chapman's apparent skill at them) would be ideal.

I was emailed by Barret and he said he's IN for Taxi Driver.

Perhaps I'll post some sketches once he's done with them.
