So did we come up with what the content might be? Is it a bit weird that we are commissioning a print and just telling the artist(s) to just do whatever they want? I thought most commissions at least pointed the artist in a direction and then let them do it how they like. I'm certainly not giving up my spot but I'd like to know a bit more about what the image will be or at least if it will be a person or a thing or Big Ben or what.

i like everything they do but prefer the women pieces over any of ther iconic/objects stuff (the queen/crown, big ben, rolls royce)

how about two ladies about to do a dual back to back with with oldschool flint lock guns (one in revolutionary US garb and the other Red Coat )

I think the first thing is to check what the level of interest is at that price point. Saying yes at this stage is just saying you're still interested - not signing on the dotted line - but if only 20 of the original 51 are still up for it then that could completely change things. I don't know what Prefab's min number is for the commission or what lower numbers could do to the price.

I agree that in other commissions the artists are generally given a steer by the group and it should be the same with this one - but I think the people who should feed into that process should be people who have at least (in principle) agreed to the price point.

Just my thoughts though, mrkyuss is leading this so it's his call.

I'd prefer a figurative piece though :-)

Well anyone who signed on should have an idea of approximately what prefab's prints cost and know what they're in for. This exercise in having everyone write YES next to their name is kind of silly if it's not a commitment. The interest is obviously there from everyone who signed up. When push comes to shove, I'm sure people who write YES now will reneg and decide they don't want to pay and/or can't come up with the scratch at that time.

Makes more sense to me to have anyone who wants out at $160 to just post here that they are out.

I know from other commissions that people drop out but can't be bothered confirming - plus the list was started in August so a bunch of people who originally signed up might not still be picking up on this thread. I think that if the assumption is made that anyone who doesn't say they're out is still in, it could skew the numbers.

My work is all behing the scenes .... :D

In terms of an image, I presume Prefab will run some different images/ colours/ mediums on here and we can decide as a collective group.

You beat me to it, mrkyuss, although thank you Mr toast for the vote of confidence :-) One rule of commissioning is to not step on the lead commissioner's toes but I 'm more than happy to help!

Things to think about though...
Deadline for in/out decisions to help with any amends to run size or additional recruitment to the group . This has been up since August and Prefab will need timescales so this is really important
Do we have a min run size from Prefab at this price? If we do and that's 50, what happens to the price if the numbers don't materialise - we could do with some sort of scale just in case
Forum for the collective to make decisions - how do we make sure that only the commission group are feeding into decisions? Is this important? Do we want initial images and progress images open to anyone to see?
Image rights / artist contract? Should we have a formal contract? What's the impact if we do/don't?
Number of APs, if any? This links to the artist contract - Prefab77 have offered a great deal (thank you, Prefab!) but we should agree number of APs that can be sold rather than leave this open ended
Max number of prints per person? - What's the limit if people want more than one copy?
Payment deadlines and mechanisms. Part upfront / part completion plus shipping to Prefab? Impact of currency conversion rates and PayPal fees? Direct payment to the artist can be easier in this respect but harder to manage
Who has responsibility if fees are payable but people drop out? This can happen and I've seen commissioners get burned

Hope this all makes sense
