So the sale on Friday is for the regular edition, anyone know if the variant is already sold out?
I went from liking the Playtime poster to not. It's not bad, I mean the buildings are exceptionally well done. But the red faced people and the font used for "Playtime" is too distracting. And I do realize that the artist just copied the font from the original movie poster, but I'm not feeling it.

Kind of which there was more to differentiate the variant.
I don't know that I've ever seen a variant where it was so hard to tell what's actually different from the regular. Are these really two different prints?allyouzombies wrote:Kind of which there was more to differentiate the variant.
dammit can't unsee that. Maybe in person it works a little better. but yeah. a more muted color would've worked betterJGC7881 wrote:I went from liking the Playtime poster to not. mostly agree - I think it's a fantastic poster ruined by the choice of using that Playtime font slapped on the building. The rest of the poster has such clean lines and is so mid-century mod, then that font just looks like it was dropped in with a photoshop layer that never got adjusted.JGC7881 wrote:I went from liking the Playtime poster to not. Went from a must buy to an easy pass for me.

I disagree. I think the font is a sharp contrast to the uniformity of all the buildings, which is kind of the point of the whole film.hunterjax wrote:mostly agree - I think it's a fantastic poster ruined by the choice of using that Playtime font slapped on the building. I'll be happy with either one, but I'm going to try for the variant.

I love this style. How can you hate the font? Isnt that the original font from the movie title?
