Pretty sad to hear he passed away today. He's probably one of the first artists that I really took notice of and I'm sure he has influenced so many other artists. RIP

Terrible shame. I still display this piece proudly in my home.

Giger's Necronomicon was my first art passion. HR Giger may not be a household name, but as far as nightmare surrealism, he is the master. Some of the most popular sci fi imagery today would not exist if not for his twisted vision.

The reveal of the Space Jockey is one of my favorite movie moments of all time. My 10 year-old self was in awe of the massive scale, which carries on to this day.

RIP to a great. I know it's sort of a running joke but there's a good reason as to why there's so much Alien(s) art out there. Hell of a design, hell of an influence.

A twisted genius, his art was like no other, a truly unique artist.

He leaves behind a fantastic legacy of work.

RIP

Wow - RIP. I just read this really interesting article on him a couple of weeks ago. He put so much time and effort (not to mention his own money!) into projects he believed in. A true maverick. :notworthy:

Man, this is terrible to see. Obviously people can't last forever, but Giger was an artist who - like many here have mentioned - I fell in love with from a young age. Such an enjoyable person to hear talk as well.

I remember the first time I saw Alien, I had to look up who did the design and stumbled into his dark surreal artwork. Powerful stuff, the guy was a true visionary.
