I still admire his work, but I'd rather support artists that feel like they genuinely appreciate and respect their fans.
To chime in from the other side a bit - my memories of meeting Laurent come from a few Thought Bubble festivals where he sat for hours, doing sketch after sketch for fans, for free. After Thought Bubble closed for the day, Laurent and Jack usually came along for food/beers in the evening with the fans too, they're very approachable and friendly. They have also opened up their studio/home and invited folk along to see how they work etc.
This sounds like a few years ago because it seems that at most conventions recently he only does sketches if you purchase like $400-$500 worth of prints. But that could just be a Mondocon thing.
They seem more or less fine overall. I think alot of the negative reaction to them and other artists like that is that they are active on social media with their fans. And in those fan groups its very insulated and they only expect abject praise (not limited to LD, most of the groups are like that). I know people personally who are very personal and friendly with them. And have others who have had bad experiences, personally and professionally.
I try not to get too caught up in artists actual personality vs their art. Some can't.

Luls, that can certainly be a challenge for people when the artist's personality is to fudge on their fans.

Ohhh, Breakfast at Tiffany's. I'd forgotten that one. I so love the print, and I'm so not paying that price. I just looked and it seems to still be available (no surprise). Will they ever reduce it to normal-price?

Laurent is a total dick. Especially online. IE the BttF3 volunteer situation, the "trufan" scenario, the time he drug a guy through the mud and called him a homophobe because of a mistake on Laurent's part, his generic attitude of being above everyone, how he's handled this whole sub, etc. Hell he bounced out of his own solo show with his little groupies maybe 45 minutes after doors opened.

I only ever got the very first print of my var sub. I wanted to wait to combine shipping
I need a backfired gif.
As for LD and JD, I've met them a few times and think they are really sound guys. Even gave me free

He is a French artist right?....I'd expect him to be a standoffish dick.

Let's not forget that David Ford stole money from me. Ford Craftsman studios is untrustworthy and steals from paying customers.
