I agree, this piece needs to be floated and have a simple frame. If 100 people looks at the piece, no one should first say, "That's a nice frame." Go simple, let the details in the art speak, not the frame.

Yep. Simple.
This image has a folksy-art feel to it. Yes? Is it just me? It's nice; however, I prefer his more detailed style work with heavier lines/details. Maybe I prefer them because they're screened? Dunno'. I've never seen an intaglio print other than in a photo.

Send it to framing devil and have him draw a forest full of phlegm characters in the mat.

A prime example of what not to do. Or have him do that and then frame the frame. But don’t ask him to frame the frame or you may have to get a third frame to let the works work work speak for itself? Oy, this could be expensive...Kramerica wrote:Send it to framing devil and have him draw a forest full of phlegm characters in the mat.

I sent mine to Link at Frame Fetish. Custom rainbow frame with drips of color all around the 3rd and 4th mats. Can't wait to see it.

It's called the gallery look son. But by all means go wild and overpay your framer (duke who made the comment is one) to make it look as gaudy as possible.

There is, but it can be a pretty fine line, and there's nothing wrong with going simple especially on an intricate black and fuggin white etching.
