Team Phlegm:
Just came across this 301009755145 and several other listings from an unscrupulous group out of Barrow-in-Furness, UK with the ebay handle of highqualityprinting trying to capitalize on phlegm's work. Clearly this is a blatant ripoff without any compensation to phlegm.
I have linked an article how Wooster Collective has started an initiative to help combat some of the problems created by unscrupulous companies infringing upon the rights of artists. http://woostercollective.com/post/a-maj ... r-copyrigh I agree with and applaud Marc and Sara's efforts.
I am hopeful you all will join me in taking a few moments to report highqualityprinting's phlegm related listings and other similar items on the ebay pages they exist.
Thanks,
silveroakcab

I pointed this out to Phlegm a year ago or so and confronted the seller myself. Phlegm just assumed not involve himself as most of his fans wouldn't engage in this sort of purchase. It was easier to let the seller be.silveroakcab wrote:Team Phlegm:

Phlegm has had a few watchdogs manage eBay for him in the form of a gallery or book store policing these folks but all in all it's not worth the hassle.
Unfortunately, with 303,763 Ebay sale listings, i think this seller makes too much money for Ebay to even give a fudge.silveroakcab wrote:Team Phlegm:

I anticipate laws vary in different jurisdictions and what they are doing may not be "technically" illegal, the fact they are making money effectively selling phlegm's images and utilizing his name in the listing without him seeing any piece of it is just plain wrong!alittle wrote:What is the legality behind something like this though? While I don't like it, I'm not sure that is illegal to take photographs of street art done in a public space and sell the photographs printed on canvas for profit.
While he and other artists probably don't have the time, energy or funds to pursue it, I am hopeful as buyers of art, we stand with Wooster and others in trying to prevent artists from being unfairly ripped off.
While different, but a similar issue included eBay listings from China knocking off Geddes work. I am troubled by this also, as I don't want to have to worry about forgeries either!
Just my .02! Rant over! Carry on!
