Kylo Ren got his ass whooped by a rookie. Darth Maul was a certified bad ass who killed LIAM "Skills" NEESON. Maul would destroy Kylo Ren, and is an infinitely more impressive villain.
And yes, Ren looks and sounds like a whiny hipster, which kills him for me. Anakin just looked like a moody brat with a rat tail and a bath robe, not an emo.

Personally thought Hayden did fine in Episode III. There is only so much you can do with dialogue from Lucas and an unwillingness to incorporate feedback. The actor only deserves 50% of the blame here if that. Plus, he's always sharing the screen with Ewan Mcgregor who kills it in every movie he is in so it is hard to live up to that.
Was that Scary Stories pin announced? I absolutely loved those books back in the day.
