I just cant with the wire. Next generation needs a battery and an on/off switch on the side.

No, it wasn't too wide, but since this is a new house, I plan on putting the lightbox and 3 24x36 spotlights on this wall, and 4 24x36 spotlights on the opposite wall. Then on each side of the window there, I plan on putting an 18x24 spotlight up each to get some smaller pieces up.

Have an electrician install an outlet a few inches inside the wall and behind the frame.
I have done that in the past as well as hardwire it directly to a line, in both cases there was no visible chord.
