Finally, the map style. Been clamoring for this one for years now. THIS is how the one sheet to screenprint practice should function...alt art and true rarities. Well done BNG.

(wish I was on that Alvin email list now, oof).

Probably in the minority but i prefer the edited colour palette where the kids are in silhouette form and the colours are more muted. I still absolutely love it though, especially after only recently discovering the hidden ship imagery formed from the negative space, genius!

Having said all that, any chance of another Goonies re-release? I think this one is by Noriyoshi Ohrai but I may be wrong.

Ive tried but I can't find any high res for it anywhere. They just have the updated cover which isn't the most ideal poster.

No, I agree. It also has the dotted line and X which I also like. I didn't realize at first that this version was different, since it's been a while. I chased after that poster for a bit, so this version will still do nicely! Maybe I'm slow, but I don't see a ship though. :?

Its basically what I want to tell everyone that complains about the Raiders logo every time we sell it.

We used the original file by John so anything else was touched up after by the studio.

The Ohrai art was used internationally, the Japanese B2 being the main example. It was not used stateside in any capacity until the video release, post theatrical run.
Those video posters used to be easy to grab on ebay, but now are a pretty tough find.

That's pretty interesting. This is the version they have on the Alvin website too, so I figured maybe he worked up more than one version. If that make this a bit of an "unreleased original" version, that's pretty fun. It's too bad we can't hear from the artist directly about the whole process any more.

Cool to see the Alvin Goonies and I like that it’s different to the theatrical poster. I was very happy to snag one!

Congrats. Is yours rolled or folded?

This, along with the ET moon/cloud advances have literally skyrocketed in the past 10 years.
