I wish the boxes of type were a bit more dynamic. I think the power of Kruger's work is that your eye connects with the boldness of the type treatment first. The weak point of this print for me is that the type and the artwork both fail to define a focal point - the boxes are all off center, relatively the same size and aligned. The first box also reads as a deliberate attempt to skirt around the likeness issue - and the entire image seems to convey a struggle between trying to balance the type treatment and balance the beautiful rendering of the Hanuka's work. If this was, as cited, an homage of sorts to Kruger, the type should have been approached with devil may care attitude.

tl;dr - Kruger masked images with her type, this feels like an attempt to balance it. It's not for me, but I am happy to see one of my favorite films get a poster.

Just my two cents, but I know nothing 'bout no art.

Every artist has peaks and troughs, his change in composition, line work and more dissolve meant some were put off.

This however is done in his older style so may be more popular with the DC fans.
Agreed, different strokes. I didn't get this one, but I don't doubt he'll eventually come out with something I would.

These DC posters have been been cool, thanks for putting them out! :notworthy: Now, if someone would put out some of Raphael Grampa's stuff I would be really happy

joe - when shipping, could you guys fold the tape at the end so it can be more easily peeled?

While I don't expect this from a gallery, I always turn all my tape-ends under and mark the best starting tab with blue Sharpie when I fold and ship a print.

Make sure to toss the free drink in the tube while you're at it.
