RIDICULOUS! I contacted Stroke art to purchase a Nadeshiko print and transferred the equivalent for 115 EUR in USD to them (100 for the print and 15 for international shipping). 2 days later I was refunded for the amount and was told that I had to pay an extra 5-6 USD to cover paypal fees... NEVER have I ever had to do this in any of my art purchases in the past 3 years, let alone get refunded and asked for 5 USD. I have always been under the assumption that the cost of the print included paypal fees, but I could be wrong. Love Fin's art but this encounter with Stroke is just ridiculous.
Such fees should be paid by the shop since they are the one using the service.

Sorry to hear that. Had good dealing with Marco. The only thing I had a little bit of a laugh at was when he mentioned I had the option for insured shipping for an additional 25 euros. I kind of laughed but said screw that. Being paid through PayPal, not much of a worry. I questioned their shipping/packaging methods and he assured me that he knew what he was doing. We shall see.

Just a follow up on this one. Unfortunately, though assured by Marco, the packaging on this was quite questionable. Wrapped like a burrito, in saran wrap, with no protection. Thankfully, wrapped fairly tight that the edge damage was semi minimal. Wasn't worth seeking a replacement, as it may spoon out.halftonegraphics wrote:Sorry to hear that. Had good dealing with Marco. i assumed it was similar to a timed edition, based on the pre-order wording. dunno though.

Laminate is lame: never had a clear and transparent communication.
Despite their reputation, this print is a home run. It hould have went through a screenprint process imo. Deserve all the fame of this artist. FinDAC has so much talent.

Fin DAC has lived the majority of his life in London (England). He is self-taught with influences ranging from dark graphic novels to Francis Bacon. In a relatively short urban art career he has ploughed a singular path in defining an atypical paint/stencil style that ignores the accepted visual language of street art almost completely. He prefers the term ‘urban aesthetic’ to ‘street artist’.

Looks like Laminate may be trying to improve their communication. Just got an email about the Fin Dac print. Sadly, all it said was "The Prints will be shipped out next week to the Artist to be signed.".
